Itinerary

On arrival at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and clearing Customs and Immigration, meet our airport representative who will provide the private vehicle transfer to your hotel. En route, she/he will present you with a welcome packet including all necessary documentation, vouchers and all contact information of your guide and local offices.

In the afternoon, enjoy a cruise on the Chao Phraya River (The River of Kings) and through the Klongs (canals) of Thonburi. You will have the chance to observe and photograph the serene family homes and temples along the waterways, which gave the city the name “Venice of the East”. Finally, pay a visit to one of the most photographed sights in Bangkok, the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun). The majestic shrine has a pagoda of 76 m high and is decorated with glazed ceramic pieces that reflect the rising sun and give the temple its name. In the late afternoon, you will return via transfer to your hotel for the evening at leisure.

To discover how Bangkok used to be, today at 7.00 am, meet your guide in the hotel lobby and travel approx. 100 km outside Bangkok, to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market with its many colours, flavours and exotic fragrances. Commence with a scenic ride on a narrow long-tail speedboat, passing riverside villages and fruit plantations, before entering the vibrant market. There will be many photo opportunities along the way and in the colourful market on the water. Lunch today will be enjoyed at a local restaurant before returning to Bangkok early afternoon for an afternoon of sightseeing. The Grand Palace is a must-see for every visitor to Bangkok. Located close to the banks of the Chao Phraya (The River of Kings), the Grand Palace is the perfect example of an ancient Siamese court. Within the compound is the “Temple of The Emerald Buddha” (Wat Pra Kaew), which houses Thailand’s most precious image of the Lord Buddha. The Emerald Buddha is believed to have supernatural powers and is dressed in robes according to the season by the King of Thailand himself.

Please note that you are required to wear proper attire (no bare shoulder, bare knees or strapless-heel shoes). Shoes must be removed before entering all temple buildings.

At 7.00 am this morning, leave Bangkok for Ayutthaya, the ancient Siamese capital. Today, Ayutthaya hosts some of Thailand’s most important historical landmarks and is UNESCO World Heritage-listed. The magnitude and number of the ancient temple ruins speak of the city’s former greatness. You will visit some of the most interesting temples and nearby Bang-Pa-In. The Bang-Pa-In Summer Palace of King Rama V consists of buildings in Gothic, Renaissance, Chinese and Thai architecture. Cruise back to Bangkok along the Chao Phraya River aboard a river cruiser. En route, you can observe the scenic river life as you enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch. In the late afternoon, return to your hotel for the evening at leisure.

This morning at 7.00 am, meet your guide, depart Bangkok and drive to Sukhothai. On the way, visit Wat Phra Phutthabat, the “temple of the Buddha’s footprint”, an important Buddhist pilgrimage site located in a rural area between the towns of Lopburi and Saraburi. A mondop on top of a small hill houses a footprint of the Buddha that was discovered in the 17th century. Continue to Lopburi and visit King Narai’s Palace, officially named Phra Narai Ratchaniwet. It is the former Palace of Ayutthaya King Narai. The ruins of the Palace, locally known as Wang Narai, are located in the old centre of Lopburi town. (Close on Mon-Tue & Public holidays). Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant. Next, drive to the city of Phitsanuloke and visit Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, then check in at the hotel.

At 07.00 am, check out from your hotel, meet your guide, drive to Sukhothai, and visit the famous Historical Park of Sukhothai. Be amazed by the many ruins from the 13th century. Wat Mahathat is considered the magical and spiritual centre of the Kingdom, and at Wat Sri Chum, you will see one of the largest sitting Buddha statues in the country. Sukhothai was also the first capital of the Kingdom of Siam and is considered the cradle of Thai culture. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant on the way. Proceed to Chiang Rai, arrive in the late afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure.

This morning drive to Mae Chan and visit a hill tribe village before continuing to Mae Sai, the northernmost point of Thailand on the Thai – Burmese Border. Then, continue the drive through the enchanting countryside to the Golden Triangle, the famed area where Laos, Myanmar [Burma] and Thailand meet. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local Restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Opium Museum House and then continue to the old city of Chiang Saen (A.D.1260) on the steep banks of Mae Khong River opposite Laos, to witness some magnificent ancient ruins and temples before returning to Chiang Rai.

Today you will enjoy the drive from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai. On the way, visit Wat Rong Khun (The white temple). Stopping at the famous hot spring at Mae Ka Chan. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant. On arrival at Chiang Mai, visit the mountain temple of Wat Doi Suthep, which is situated on a hill 1050 m high. On clear days, you will enjoy a fantastic view over the town and the province. In the late afternoon, you are transferred to your hotel for the evening at leisure.

This morning visit a jungle area north of Chiang Mai where there is an Elephant camp. You are shown how the elephants are trained from young age onwards. The “pupils” will then demonstrate what they have learned. Later a visit to an Orchid farm is on the program. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant. Chiang Mai without its well-known handicraft villages is unthinkable because so many artisans and artists are assembled here that a visit is a must. You will visit the villages of the umbrella makers, woodcarvers, silversmiths, silk weavers and jewellery.
