Itinerary

On arrival at Bangkok International Airport, upon clearing Customs and Immigration, meet your guide, who will present you with a welcome packet including all necessary documentation, vouchers and contact information of your guide and local offices. Your guide will provide the private vehicle transfer to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel this morning, travel by motor, launch on the picturesque Chao Phraya River and canals to see farmers in tiny flat-bottomed boats market their produce. Observe the family homes and temples along the waterways, which gives this city the name “Venice of the East”. Pass the Temple of Dawn, whose 79-metre spire silhouette has become so identified with Bangkok. Later tour the Grand Palace. Within the compound, the Chapel of the Emerald Buddha, a 75 cm statue of jade, sits atop an 11metre golden pedestal. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Today discover the way Bangkok used to be and travel approx. 100 km outside Bangkok, to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market with its many colours, flavours and exotic fragrances. Start with a scenic ride on a narrow longtail-speedboat, passing riverside villages and fruit plantations, before entering the vibrant market. There will be many photo opportunities along the way and in the colourful market on the water. Afterwards, continue to Nakorn Pathom, regarded as the oldest city in Thailand. Next, pay a visit to Phra Pathom Chedi, the largest pagoda in Southeast Asia. Lunch will be served at the picturesque Sampran Riverside. The Sampran Riverside has extensive landscaped gardens, a lake, several traditional Thai-style houses, and a village. Afterwards, you will have the chance to experience life in a traditional Thai- village. This includes tending to the herbal gardens, rice planting or harvest and various handicrafts such as cooking, weaving or pottery. Finally, return to your hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

This morning view the elephants at play and work deep in a teak forest. Watch them demonstrate their prowess by moving lumber and serving as a mode of transportation within the jungle area. There will be an opportunity to feed and ride on these elephants.

In the afternoon, visit Doi Suthep and Meo Hilltribe. Some 20 different tribes of semi-nomadic people live in the northern hills, and culturally, each is distinctively different, having its language and custom. Your next visit is to the resplendent Wat Phra on Doi Suthep before you return to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Today enjoy a full-day tour of Chiang Mai and the old walled city and its temples. Visit the 700-year-old Wat Chiangmun, the oldest temple within the city wall, Wat Pra Singh to view the 1500-year-old Buddha image and Wat Suandok. Then, drive along the Northern capital passing residential areas and the famous Varoros Market.

This evening enjoys the ”kantoke” dinner, a traditional dinner eaten in the north where a series of dishes are served in small bowls (Kan), and diners are seated on cushions at a low table (toke). Enjoy superb northern Thai cuisine and enjoy watching the dancers perform finger dance, sword dance, candle dance and Thai folk dance.
