The Laos Short Stay is an ideal getaway for travellers looking to explore the charming highlights of Luang Prabang and the surrounding area.  Visit stunning temples, vibrant markets, and beautiful natural scenery. While also providing ample opportunities for relaxation and cultural immersion during their stay. Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Laos, is renowned for its well-preserved architecture. It blends traditional Lao and French colonial styles. The sacred Mount Phousi offers panoramic views of the city and the Mekong River. The Mekong River itself provides opportunities for boat trips and exploration of nearby villages. Additionally, the daily alms-giving ceremony to monks creates a unique cultural experience for visitors.

Luang Prabang cuisine is a delightful blend of traditional Laotian flavors, influenced by Thai, Vietnamese, and French cooking. The use of fresh herbs, spices, and local ingredients such as sticky rice, fish, and vegetables is central to the dishes. Signature items include “larb” (a spicy meat salad), “tam mak hoong” (papaya salad), and various grilled fish. The city is also known for its night market, where street food vendors offer an array of colorful and aromatic dishes. Travelling in Laos offers a unique experience rich in natural beauty, culture, and history. The warm hospitality of the Laotian people and the country’s relatively laid-back atmosphere make it an inviting destination for travellers seeking both adventure and relaxation.

Itinerary

On arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport, you will be greeted by our airport representative, who will provide the private vehicle transfer to your hotel. Years of isolation from the wider world have helped preserve Laos’ peaceful nature and allow a glimpse into a quieter time.

Once you have completed check-in procedures at your hotel, the remainder of the day is at leisure.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before meeting your guide in the hotel foyer and embarking on a full-day tour of Luang Prabang. In this charming UNESCO-protected town, golden Buddha images adorn gilded temples with sweeping roofs, while saffron-clad monks drift silently by. We’ll stroll through the town stopping at some of the many temples. One of the most photographed sights is the unique pink mosaic of the tree of life at Wat Xieng Thong. In the 16th century Wat Visoun, we will find a beautiful collection of antique wooden Buddhas. In the National Museum, formerly the Royal Palace, we’ll see the royal family’s private quarters – preserved just as they were when the family were forced to leave. The Hor Phrabang contains the palace’s most prized art, including the Phrabang itself, a beautiful Buddha image. Throughout the tour, we’ll see many other temples, including Wat Sibounheuang, Wat Si Moungkhoun, Wat Sop, Wat Mai, Wat Sene and Wat Aham. In the evening, we will visit Mount Phousi for the sunset. Climb 328 steps starting from the entrance on the opposite side of the National Museum, or 410 steps on the other side of Khan River to the small temples atop Phou Si. The hill is 150m high and sits in the middle of the town, offering beautiful views over the temples and river.
