Introducing you to the country’s three main regions, this Vietnam tour starts with the natural splendour and majesty of the north, continues to the historic charm of the central provinces before concluding with the beauty and the vibrancy of the south.
Day 1 Hanoi -Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 2 Hanoi -The capital of Vietnam, visit the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh (viewed from outside the ‘icon of Hanoi’ – The One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, West Lake’s Tran Quoc temple and Quan Thanh pagoda as well as the fascinating Ethnology Museum, the bustling Old Quarter and at the end of the day – a water puppet performance. Day 3 Hanoi to Hoa Lu to Hanoi -Depart early for the 2-hour drive to the site of Vietnam’s first capital, Hoa Lu. In the late morning depart for Tam Coc Town for a Vietnamese lunch. After lunch board your private sampan for a short cruise before returning to Hanoi. (B, L)
Day 4 Hanoi to Halong Bay – After breakfast leave Hanoi for a 3hr30mins drive to Halong Bay. After your welcomed on board, a lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay itself. Towards the end of the day the boat sets anchor for the night. Dinner is served on board. (B, L, D)
Day 5 Halong Bay to Hoi An via Hanoi – After Breakfast disembark and return to Hanoi. A short flight to Da Nang and transfer to UNESCO listed Hoi An. (B)
Day 6 Hoi An to My Son to Hoi An – Today take a half day to visit the capital and religious centre of the former Champa Kingdom My Son. (B)
Day 7 Hoi An to Hue – Enjoy this morning at leisure before leaving Hoi An for Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. (B)
Day 8 Hue – Visit the Imperial Citadel, take a cyclo through dai noi ‘Old City’ Afterwards depart for Thien Mu (Celestial
Lady) Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River, Continue to former emperor Minh Mang’s tomb before heading back to your hotel take time to stroll around Dong Ba Market with your guide. (B)
Day 9 Hue to Ho Chi Minh – After breakfast a short flight to Ho Cho Minh, visit Chinatown, Thien Hau Pagoda, visit the Ben Thanh Market, War Remnants Museum, Old Saigon Post Office, Opera House and City Hall. (B)
Day 10 Ho Chi Minh to Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh – This morning, leave bustling Ho Chi Minh for the 2 hour drive to the delta town of Cai Be. Continue to a cottage factory where ‘pop-rice’, rice paper and coconut candies are made. (B, L)
Day 11 Ho Chi Minh – Departure day. At leisure until transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for onward flight. (B)
