Tour Description

Day 1 – Chiang Mai – On arrival in Chiang Mai International Airport you will be greeted by our airport representative who will provide the private vehicle transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your own leisure.

Day 2- Chiang Mai City Tour – At the completion of breakfast at your hotel meet your guide and embark on a day of sightseeing around Chiang Mai. This morning on a TUK TUK drive through the most historic areas of Chiang Mai, including a pass through the old city walls, city gates and moat. Visit Wat Phrasing, which houses the beautiful Lai Kham Chapel with its exquisite wood carving and northern style murals. Afterwards visit Wat Chedi Luang, containing an enormous Pagoda, which was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. Continue on to visit Wat Chiang Man (Chiang Mai’s oldest temple) famous for a Chedi supported by rows of elephantine buttresses. Then visit the famous Varoros Market. Lunch will be provided the famous northern Thai noodle dish kao soy, a chicken curry dish made with yellow noodles. This is a real original Thai experience that you won’t find on other itineraries. After lunch visit the famous landmark of Chiang Mai– the mountain temple Wat Doi Suthep , which is situated on a hill, 1050 m high. On clear days, you will enjoy a fantastic view over the town and the province. Then change vehicle to Local truck to visit to a village White Hmong Hill tribe, a minority group who migrated from Southern part of China. Walk around seeing a primitive village where there’s still no electricity as well as observing their traditional way of life. (B, L)

Day 3 – Chiang Mai – Elephant Nature Park – Enjoy a picturesque drive through agricultural Thai countryside, along Mae Taeng Valley brings you to Elephant Nature Park. You will hear the personal stories of our rescued elephants as told by expert guides. You will learn about the problems elephants face in Southeast Asia, as how Elephant Nature Park is helping in the treatment, and care of Thailand’s dwindling elephant population. Feeding time. After unloading and distributing the fruit treats you will have a chance to feed the elephants from the viewing platform. Lunch: A sumptuous and varied buffet follows.

Bathing Time: walk with our staff to the river that skirts the park. After learning how to safely and properly bathe an elephant, plunge right in and help scrub these giants as they splash around. If going into the river is not for you then watch the elephants bathe and play while you stay dry on the sandy shore. Around 5pm it’s time for goodbyes to the elephants and to Elephant Nature Park before the hour-long drive back to Chiang Mai where you will be dropped off at your accommodations.

A one-in-a-lifetime evening that starts with a spiritual blessing, followed by dinner in an historic wooden house and the release of a Lanna-style sky lantern. As darkness falls your host will meet you at your hotel and escort you to a beautiful temple in Chiang Mai to take part in a special Buddhist ceremony conducted by the head monk. After making an offering and receiving a blessing you will be whisked off to the exquisite 137 Pillars House. Dinner will be served in the Palette Dining Room located in the hotel’s original teak homestead dating back to the 1800s. Drink in the atmosphere of the historic surroundings as you dine on delicious cuisine artistically created with organic and locally-sourced produce. End the evening by launching a traditional paper lantern, known as Khom Loy. Sip a glass of chilled sparkling wine as you watch the flickering light drifting upwards into the starry night sky. (B, L & D)

Day 4 – Chiang Mai departure – Enjoy your last day in Chiang Mai at your own leisure before you meet your drive in the hotel foyer who will provide the private vehicle transfer to Chiang Mai International Airport for your onward flight. (B)
