Tour Description

South Korea eastern cities boast a thousand years of rich history, including Seoul, Gyeongju and Andong city, where you can find many UNESCO World Heritage sites. In addition, you can experience a hiking course through the most famous mountain in Korea, Mt. Seorak. For those people seeking a road less travelled experience, this tour will fulfil your requirements.

Day 1 – Arrival in Seoul – On arrival in Seoul our airport representative will greet you and accompany you in a private air conditioned vehicle to your hotel. The remainder of the day and evening is at your leisure.

Day 2 – Seoul to Busan via Jinju – At the completion of breakfast meet your tour guide in the hotel foyer and commence your day of sightseeing with a visit to Jinjuseong Fortress, historically linked to the Japanese invasion in 1592. Proceed to Nurimaru APEC House, it is the house where the world summits gather together for previous APEC meetings. Continue to Centum City Shopping Mall, Korea’s most sought-out shopping destination. Once you have completed dinner, check in hotel and rest of the day is at your own leisure. (B, L & D)

Day 3 -Busan to Gyeongju via Ulsan – Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then depart with your guide to Ulgi Park, a beautiful stretch of coastline littered with rocks carved into interesting shapes by the wind and ocean. Your next stop is Bulguksa Temple, the representative relic designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in 1995, it was built in 528 during the Silla Kingdom. Enjoy some time exploring the Gyeongju National Museum, Tumuli Park and Anapji Pond before you arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant this evening. (B, L & D)

Day 4 – Gyeongju to Pyeongchang -This morning visit Andong Hahoe village, home to descendants of the Ryu clan of Pungsan and well known for its traditional houses. Continue to Hanji Theme Park where you get a chance to experience the Hanji making process. Literally meaning “Korean paper”.  It is hand-made paper made from the inner bark of paper mulberry. Today lunch and dinner will be served en route at local restaurants and you will reach your destination in the late afternoon. (B, L & D)

Day 5 – Pyeongchang to Seoul -This morning visit Jumunjin Seafood Market, founded in 1936 it is home to some of Korea’s best seafood including a variety of fresh seafood caught on the East Coast. Continue to Yangyang and enjoy a short bike ride at Jujeongol of Mt. Seorak where you can appreciate its wonderful nature. In the late afternoon you will return to Seoul, whereby you will check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at your own leisure. (B & L)

Day 6 – Seoul sightseeing – At the completion of breakfast meet your guide in the hotel foyer and depart to the Gwanghwamun Gate, the main gate of Gyeongbukgung Palace founded by the first king of the Joseon Dynasty. Explore Gyeongbokgung Palace (Changdeok Palace on Tuesday), arguably the most beautiful and the grandest of all five palaces. Proceed pass the Blue house, also called Cheong Wa Dae, the presidential residence before continuing to Myeongdong, one of the busiest places in Seoul and among Korea’s premier shopping destinations, before you continue to Namsangol Hanok Village (Bukchon Hanok Village or Insadong on Tuesday) where there are five restored traditional Korean houses and a pavilion, a pond and a time capsule. Next, visit N Seoul Tower, standing 236 meters tall offering panoramic views of Seoul and the surrounding areas. Enjoy a late afternoon stop by a duty free shop before being returned to your hotel. (B & L)

Day 7 – Seoul to Jeju Island – This morning after breakfast you can enjoy some free time till you meet your local driver who will provide the transfer to Gimpo airport for your short flight to Jeju Island. Upon arrival at Jeju international airport, you will be welcome by our local driver who will provide the private transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your own leisure. (B)

Day 8 – Jeju Island -After breakfast meet your guide in the hotel foyer and embark on a day of sightseeing around Jeju Island. The first location to visit is Jeju Stone Cultural Park, designed to show the legend of Grandmother and the stones of the Five Hundred Generals. Continue to Seongeup Folk Village, located at the foot of Mt. Halla, cultural properties in the folk village have been handed down from generation to generation and include treasures such as residential houses, Confucian shrines and schools, ancient government offices, stone statues, large millstones (pulled by horses or ox), fortress ruins, and stone monuments. Enjoy lunch before viewing a Haenyeo performance whereby female divers who dive the ocean water to catch various oceanic organisms. Proceed to visit Seongsan Sunrise Peak, designated by UNESCO as World Nature Heritage in 2007 and then visit the Manjanagul Lava Tube, which stretches for 7.4km. The final visit of the day is the Shilla Duty Free shop before you are returned to your hotel for the evening at your own leisure.     (B & L)

Day 9 – Jeju Island to Seoul -This morning after breakfast meet your guide hotel foyer and embark on another day of sightseeing of Jeju Island. The first location is the Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum, a place exhibiting Jeju”s folk relics and natural materials before proceeding to Dragon Head Shore, situated at the bottom of Mt. Sanbang. At this picturesque location enjoy a traditional Korean lunch. Continue to Jusangjeollidae, also called Seaside Cliff, a popular spot due to an impressive pillar rock formation, and then, visit Cheonjeyeon waterfall, one of 3 major waterfalls in Jeju Island. At the completion of the tour you will be transferred to Jeju international Airport for your short flight to Gimpo Airport Seoul. Upon arrival at Gimpo Airport you will be welcome by our local driver who will provide the transfer to your hotel. (B & L)

Day 10 – Seoul departure – Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel and potentially some free time in Seoul before meeting your driver in the hotel foyer at a pre agreed time who will provide the transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
