Nami Island & Mt Seorak 2 Days / 1 Night

Day 1 – Meet your guide and driver early this morning in your hotel foyer and prepare for the 90 minute bus ride to Nami Island. The first visit this morning is to the location of the popular Korean Television drama, Winter Sonata, before continuing to Petite France, the only location in South Korea to experience French culture and French style buildings. In the spirit of Korean entertainment the afternoon continues with a visit to the shooting location of another popular South Korean drama, ‘My love came from the star’ and the shooting location to the Television series ‘ Running Man’. The afternoon continues with a 2-1/2 bus journey to Mt Seorak arriving late in the afternoon and after hotel check-in is complete, the remainder of the day is at your own leisure.

Day 2 – Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning before meeting your guide for a day exploring Mt Seorak. The 3rd highest mountain in South Korea tourists can visit all times of the year however, autumn is considered the best. The mountain range located here stretches over an area of 373 ㎞² with the highest peak reaching 1,708 meters. You will spend the day exploring this mountain and the surrounding waterfalls and temples. Depart Mt Seorak late in the afternoon you will return to Seoul in the early evening. (B)

Day 1 – Arrive in Seoul – On arrival in Seoul you will be met by our airport representative and transferred by private air conditioned car to you hotel. Once check in procedures are complete, at a pre arranged time with your guide, you will be collected from your hotel lobby to commence your afternoon sightseeing tour of Seoul. Your 1st visit this afternoon is to visit Myeong-dong, a popular shopping district of Seoul featuring mid-to-high priced retail stores and international brand outlets, including Lacoste, Bulgari and Louis Vuitton. Continuing on the shopping theme the next visit is to Namdaemun Market. The oldest and largest market in South Korea after dark it comes alive and is a must visit for those searching for a good value for money bargain. At the end of the night return to your hotel by private air conditioned vehicle.

Day 2- Seoul -After enjoying breakfast at your hotel your guide will again meet you in the hotel lobby. Your first visit today is to the official residence of the South Korean head of state, the president. Better known as ‘ The Blue House ‘ and built in traditional Korean architecture, the entire complex is approx 62 acres in size. After touring the area the next visit for the day is to Gyeongbokgung Palace. Located in northern Seoul, the palace was 1st constructed in 1395 before fire ruined it and it was rebuilt in 1867. We will spend some time here so you can wander and learn about the palace after which time you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch you visit the Korean Folk Village , located near South Korea’s largest amusement park, The Korean Folk Village endeavours to display numerous replicas of traditional houses of the different social classes ( peasant, landowner,   yang ban ) from various regions. At the completion of the day return to your hotel by private air conditioned vehicle. (B)

Day 3 – DMZ – You will enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel this morning before you meet your guide for the transfer to the meeting point before embarking on a day tout to the Demililterized Zone (DMZ). Your 1st visit of the day is to the 3rd infiltration tunnel, originally found in 1978, the tunnel was built by the North and designed to surpass the South with an attack from the North. You will also have the opportunity to visit Dora Observatory where you will catch a glimpse of North Korea. Following the visit to the 3rd tunnel you will visit Dorasan Train station, the northern most station that can link the North & South when ready. Its then a short bus ride to Imjingak Pavilion & the Freedom Bridge.  Late in the afternoon you will be transferred back to Seoul in an air conditioned vehicle. (B)

Day 4 – Departure from Seoul – Take your time this morning as you enjoy breakfast at your leisure, check out of your hotel and enjoy some free time before you meet your guide for the transfer to the airport for your onward flight or to the train station for your onward journey. (B)

Day 1 – Arrival into Seoul – On arrival at Seoul Incheon International Airport you will be greeted by our airport representative who will provide the transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your own leisure.

Day 2 – Seoul Sightseeing – This morning at the completion of breakfast meet your guide in the hotel foyer and embark on a day of sightseeing in Seoul. The first visit is to Gwanghwamun Gate, founded in 1395 by the first king of the Joseon Dynasty, Gwanghwamun is the main gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Next, explore Gyeongbok Palace (Changdeok Palace on Tuesday), arguably the most beautiful and the grandest of all five palaces before passing by the Blue house, also called Cheong Wa Dae, the presidential residence. Continue to Myeongdong, one of the busiest places in Seoul and among Korea’s premier shopping destinations before proceeding to Namsangol Hanok Village where there are five restored traditional Korean houses and a pavilion, a pond and a time capsule. The final visit is to the Seoul Tower. Located on a hill and standing 479 metres tall it offers panoramic views of Seoul and the surrounding areas, and is very impressive to visit at dusk. On the return to your hotel late in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to stop by a duty free store for some shopping. (B,L)

Day 3 – Seoul to Busan via Jinju – Enjoy an early breakfast this morning before meeting your tour guide in the hotel foyer before departing for Jinjuseong Fortress, the castle had been frequently destroyed by the Japanese invasion and was later reinforced by Jinju’s minister, Kim Jung-gwang during the fifth year of Goryeo Woo King’s reign (1379). Proceed to Nurimaru APEC House, meaning a house where the world summits gather together for an APEC meeting. You will continue to Centum City Shopping Mall in Busan, Korea’s most sought-out shopping destination. Complete the evening with dinner at a local restaurant before returning to our hotel for the evening. (B,L,D)

Day 4 -Busan to Gyeongju via Ulsan – This morning bid farewell to Busan as you travel to Ulgi Park, littered with rocks carved into interesting shapes by the wind and ocean. Continue to Gyeongju and visit Bulguksa Temple, the representative relic designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in Gyeongju. The temple was originally called ‘Hwaeom Bulguksa Temple’ or ‘Beopryusa Temple’ and was rebuilt by Kim Dae-Seong (700-774), who started rebuilding the temple in 751 during the reign of King Gyeong-Deok. Explore Gyeongju National Museum, Tumuli Park and Anapji Pond. Complete the day with dinner at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel to enjoy the evening at your own leisure. (B,L,D)

Day 5 – Gyeongju to Pyeongchang via Andong – This morning visit Andong Hahoe village, home to descendants of the Ryu clan of Pungsan and well known for its traditional houses. Continue to the Hanji Theme Park where you can get a chance to experience the Hanji paper making process. Proceed to Pyeongchang and check in hotel. Lunch and dinner will be served en route at local restaurants and the remainder of the day is at your leisure. (B,L,D)

Day 6 -Pyeongchang to Seoul via Yangyang – At the completion of breakfast visit Jumunjin Seafood Market, one of the biggest in South Korea including a variety of fresh seafood caught on the East Coast. The next stop is a visit to Yangyang where you can enjoy a short hiking at Jujeongol of Mt. Seorak to enjoy its natural beauty. Day 3 – Seoul to Paju return to Seoul- At the conclusion of breakfast, meet the tour guide at your hotel lobby between 7:30am to 8:30am. The first stop will be Imjingak Peace Park, which established in 1972 as a reminder of the Korean War and a symbol for peace within Korea. Next visit The 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, discovered on Oct.17, 1978 and located 52km from Seoul before visiting Dorasan Observatory where North Korean military personnel are visible and so are the highlights of Gaeseong and the Geumgangsan Diamond Mountains. Enjoy a stop by Dorasan Station, a railway station on the Gyeongi Line, the northernmost stop on South Korea’s railway line and Unification Village. Lunch today will be at a local restaurant before returning to Seoul in the mid to late afternoon. (B, L)

Day 4 – Seoul to Suwon return to Seoul – Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before meeting your guide in the hotel lobby. Visit Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon. Hwaseong Fortress is the official fortress of Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, from the latter days of the Joseon Period (1392-1910). The fortress wall is 5.52km long and it has a great variety of military facilities you cannot find at other fortress. After the tour, enjoy the lunch at local restaurant. Continue the day with a visit to the Korean Folk Village where you can see Traditional Houses, Farmers Music/Dance and acrobatics on a tightrope. Enjoy an afternoon stop at Amethyst/Ginseng Centre before returning to your hotel late in the afternoon. (B, L)

Day 5-Seoul to Gyeongju – After breakfast, today you will enjoy Half Day Gyeongju Tour. Today’s Gyeongju tour includes National Gyeongju Museum (Closed on Mondays), Anapji Pond, Tumuli Park, Cheomseongdae Observatory, and Folk & Craft Museum. (B, L)

Day 6 – Gyeongju to Busan- After breakfast, today continue to South Korea’s second largest city, Busan. Upon arrival in Busan, you will visit Yongdusan Park, Busan Tower, and Jagalchi Market. Lunch will be served en route at a local restaurant. In the afternoon you have free time to explore Busan at your own leisure. (B, L)

Day 7 – Busan to Seoul – Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a ½ day sightseeing tour of Busan visiting such location as Haeundae Beach and Beomeaosa Temple. Lunch will be served en route at a local restaurant after which your will be transferred to Busan Station. Board the KTX bullet train bound for Seoul, which takes 2-1/2 hours duration. Day 8 – Jeju Island -After breakfast meet your guide in the hotel foyer and embark on a day of sightseeing around Jeju Island. The first location to visit is Jeju Stone Cultural Park, designed to show the legend of Grandmother and the stones of the Five Hundred Generals. Continue to Seongeup Folk Village, located at the foot of Mt. Halla, cultural properties in the folk village have been handed down from generation to generation and include treasures such as residential houses, Confucian shrines and schools, ancient government offices, stone statues, large millstones (pulled by horses or ox), fortress ruins, and stone monuments. Enjoy lunch before viewing a Haenyeo performance whereby female divers who dive the ocean water to catch various oceanic organisms. Proceed to visit Seongsan Sunrise Peak, designated by UNESCO as World Nature Heritage in 2007 and then visit the Manjanagul Lava Tube, which stretches for 7.4km. Day 9 – Jeju Island to Seoul -This morning after breakfast meet your guide hotel foyer and embark on another day of sightseeing of Jeju Island. The first location is the Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum, a place exhibiting Jeju”s folk relics and natural materials before proceeding to Dragon Head Shore, situated at the bottom of Mt. Sanbang. At this picturesque location enjoy a traditional Korean lunch. Continue to Jusangjeollidae, also called Seaside Cliff, a popular spot due to an impressive pillar rock formation, and then, visit Cheonjeyeon waterfall, one of 3 major waterfalls in Jeju Island. Round Korea and JeJu Island – 13 Days / 12 Nights

Day 1 – Arrival in Seoul – Upon arrival at Seoul Airport our representative will greet you and accompany you in a private air conditioned vehicle to your hotel. After check in procedures are complete you are free to enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 2 – Seoul to Daejeon – Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before you meet your guide and embark on the drive to Daejeon. The first destination you visit is Gongju, the ancient capital of the Baekje Kingdom (18BC – 660AD). Here you will enjoy a wonderful experience of spending time with a monk learning the art of meditation and enjoying a conversation over a cup of tea at Magoska Temple. Proceed to the Tomb of Muryeong King and then onto to Gongsanseong Fortress, a mountain castle which was established during the Baekje Period. You will enjoy an archery experience there. Continue to Daejeon arriving in the late afternoon and then after dinner enjoy the evening at your leisure. (B, L & D)

Day 3 – Daejeon to Gwangju – At the completion of breakfast at your hotel, embark on the day’s touring, with the 1st visit of the day to Jeonju Hanok Village, with over 800 traditional Korea houses. The village is famous among tourists because of its atmosphere that strongly contrast with the modern city around it. Choose your preferred Hanbok, Korean National Costume and make a special memory wearing Hanbok with your companions. You will explore Gyeonggijeon Shrine which was erected in 1410 and holds the portrait of King Tae-jo, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty. Today you will enjoy a Jeonju Bibimbap lunch and taste Makkolli (Korean traditional Wine) at a local restaurant. In the afternoon visit Tapsa Temple in Jinan, famous for the over 80 stone pagodas built by Lee Gapyong, a retired scholar and in the late afternoon proceed to Gwangju for the evening. (B, L & D)

Day 4 – Gwangju to Yeosu – Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before you embark for the day, with your 1st visit of the day to Boseong Green Tea Plantation, a very beautiful green tea fields. Here you will also have a chance to taste Boseong Green Tea. Continue to the Suncheon Naganeupseong Folk Village where you can observe the daily dwellings indigenous to the south provincial area. Then explore Suncheonman Bay, thickly covered with reeds taller than a full-grown man and then stop by Yongsan Observatory to enjoy the bay’s beautiful view. Proceed to Yeosu, one of the country’s most picturesque port cities especially at night, and it’s here you can celebrate the night by watching the view of the seaside village. (B, L & D)

Day 5 – Yeosu to Busan – At the completion of breakfast embark on a day of sightseeing with your first visit of the day, enjoying a ride on the Yeosu Cable Car, offering the safe yet thrilling experience with the gondola to operate over seawater. Enjoy the scenery of downtown Yeosu and the archipelago around the old seaport and then proceed to Jinjuseong Fortress which is historically linked to the Japanese invasion in 1592. At the completion of this visit you make route to Busan for the evening at leisure after dinner. (B, L & D)

Day 6 – Busan to Gyeongju – After enjoying breakfast at your hotel embark on the day of sightseeing with your first visit to Nurimaru APEC House, it means “a house where the world summits gather together for an APEC meeting.” Located on Dongbaekseom Island, which is noted for its beautiful, natural landscape accented by dense camellia and pine trees. Proceed to Gyeongju and explore Bulguksa Temple, the representative relic designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO. Continue to Gyeongju National Museum its holdings are largely devoted to relics of the Silla kingdom, of which Gyeongju was the capital. The next visit is to Daereungwon Tomb Complex. This park has more than 20 large and small tombs from the Shilla period and has been designated a Historic site, and the tombs are presumed to be those of kings and court officials. The last stop for today is Cheomseongdae Observatory which is the oldest existing astronomical observatory in Asia. (constructed during the reign of Queen Seon-deok (r. 632-647), it was used to observe stars in order to forecast the weather.) (B, L & D)

Day 7 – Gyeongju to Pyeonchang – After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer to Andong Hahoe Village, home to descendants of the Ryu clan of Pungsan and well-known for its traditional houses. Hahoe Village boasts exquisite scenic sights, the elegant Nakdong River flowing around the village, the magnificent Buyongdae Cliff, sandy beaches, and lush ancient pine trees. Hahoe Village was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List under the category of “Historic Villages in Korea” on July 31, 2010. Proceed to Hanji Theme Park where you can get a chance to experience the Hanji making process.  You then have a short transfer to Pyeongchang for the evening. (B, L & D)

Day 8 – Pyeoncgang to Seoul – At the completion of breakfast your 1st visit Is to the Ski Jump Tower Observatory by monorail, used for the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018. Enjoy the view of the Sky Lounge and have some free time enjoying coffee or tea. Finally, travel to Yangyang to enjoy some short hiking at Jujeongol of Mt. Seorak and enjoy the nature before you return to Seoul in the early evening. (B & L)

Day 9 – Seoul Sightseeing – Today you will enjoy a full day sightseeing in and around Seoul. Your 1st visit of the day is to Gyeongbokgung Palace and enjoy Gwanghwamun Gate, here you will witness the Changing of Royal Guard Ceremony, and visit the National Folk Museum. Pass by The Blue House, also called Cheong Wa Dae. Continue to Insadong-gil and enjoy a visit toJogyesa Temple. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant at Myeongdong, and then proceed to Namsangol Hanok Village. Day 10 – Seoul to Jeju Island – Enjoy a late breakfast today, check out of your hotel by 10.00am and meet your driver who will provide the transfer to Seoul Gimpo Airport for your short flight to JeJu Island. On arrival at JeJu Airport you will be greeted by our airport representative who will provide the private vehicle transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your own leisure.(B)

Day 11 – Jeju Island  Sightseeing – Today you will explore with your guide, Jeju Island. The 1st visit is to Hallim Park which consists of botanical gardens, lava caves and a folk village. Enjoy take a time at Hyeongje Haean-ro Seaside Street between Mt. Songaksan & Mt. Sanbangsan before you visit the spectacular volcanic rock formations of Jusangjeolli Cliff.  Visit Cheonjeyeon Falls composed of three-staircase falls. The first fall boasts a pond that is 22m in length and 21m in depth whose waters flow downwards to create the second and third falls. The area surrounding Cheonjeyeon Waterfall is home to the Psilotumnudum (L.) Griseb, Elaeocarpus sylvestris var. ellipticus, tendril plants, and shrubs. Finally visit to Mysterious road, which has earned its name, as objects and liquid appear to roll and flow up the hill instead of down, when, in fact, such image of gravity defiance is an optical illusion rendered by the seemingly high surroundings. (B & L)

Day 12 – JeJu to Seoul – This morning you will enjoy another full day sightseeing on Jeju Island before departing on an early evening flight returning to Seoul. Today you will visit the Jeju Folklore & National History Museum, displaying mainly natural historical items such as marine life, soil, rocks, fauna and flora of Jeju in a three-dimensional way. Continue to the Jeju Stone Park, inspired by Jeju’s history of myth, stone and spirit. The main theme consists of the legend about Seolmundae Halmang (Grandmother Seolmundae) who created Jeju Island and the stones of Obaek Janggun (the Five Hundreds Generals). The park provides a historical and cultural space where collected stones express Jeju’s foundation and culture. Continue to visit Seongeup Folk Village. Located at the foot of Mt. Halla on Jeju Island, Seongeup Folk Village is a small town that holds a vast amount of culture. Move on to Seongsan Ilchulbong Sunrise Peak. Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak rose from under the sea in a volcanic eruption over 100,000 years ago. Located on the eastern end of JeJu Island, there is a huge crater at the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak. Then, enjoy, woman diver show [UNESCO Intangible Cultural Asset] Haenyeo refers to female divers who dive into the ocean water to gather various shellfish, seaweed, etc, without using any underwater diving equipment. When diving underwater, a haenyeo carries only a pair of goggles, a round ball-like tube tokeep her balance, and a basket to put her collections in. Such women involved in the fishing industry are known to be scattered all around Jeju-do, Korea, Japan, and Russia. (*Haenyeo Museum is the alternative tour course on rainy day) Then, drive to Hamdeok Seoubong Beach. Hamdeok Beach is famous for its clean and shallow water, attracting many family visitors during summer vacations. The beach offers great scenery with its emerald-blue water, an arched bridge over black basalt and a red lighthouse.  You will depart Jeju on a 7.00pm flight and on arrival in Seoul, be greeted by our airport representative who will provide the private vehicle transfer to your hotel. (B & L)

Day 13 – Seoul – After breakfast it is time to check out of your hotel, met your guide for your transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
